SecureRF Corporation develops cryptography and security solutions for low resource computing devices including wireless sensors and RFID. As we prepare to bring our secure products and cryptography protocols to market, we are looking for several people to join our experienced team:
- RFID System Engineers
- Security and Cryptography Architect
- Marketing Coordinator
Updated August 2011. Our development office is currently in New Haven, CT but we may be moving to the Shelton, CT area.
RFID (Systems Engineers) We are expanding our search for RFID engineers. Are you interested in relocating to CT? We would also consider setting up an office in the Boston, MA area for the right candidates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Applicants with previous management experience will be considered for team leadership role.
- Create product requirements and test plan to support their development.
- Develop digital circuits design via RTL and then a Netlist
- Develop an end-to-end system simulation and analysis to evaluate various technical issues such as modulation schemes.
- Develop new methods / algorithms to improve system performance.
- Design and deploy RF digital communication system and sub-system.
- Provide written reports and summaries of development projects and tasks.
Requirements: (Education, training, skills etc.)
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years of experience in RF wireless communication system.
- To be considered for team leadership role, must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in RF wireless communication system and 5 years of experience managing technical teams.
- A solid understanding of wireless communications in theory and applications, plus RFID experience is required. Strong experience with GS1 EPCglobal Class 1, Generation 2 protocols and experience with 18000-7, HF, ZigBee and NFC protocols preferred.
- Working knowledge of and ability to create and navigate through detailed technical standards/specifications and other technical documents
- Knowledge of cryptography and security methods is a plus.
- Experience in digital wireless communication system analysis and design such as: Link budget; Channel planning, Multipath Fading analysis, Modulator/Demodulator schema design, Spectrum and bandwidth analysis and System Performance (BER, PER) analysis.
- Knowledgeable in CAD/CAE tools.
- Knowledgeable in Matlab, ADS or similar simulation tools.
- Knowledgeable in Verilog or VHDL, test bench development, and code control.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must work in a minimum supervision environment and be self motivated

Security and Cryptography Architect
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive overall security architecture and provide leadership in the comprehensive planning, development, and delivery of new cryptographic protocols and products.
- Work closely with software development and engineering teams to ensure that our products meet or exceed customer security requirements.
- Represent SecureRF's interests to standards organizations such as EPCglobal, DASH7, IEEE, and ANSI.
- Participate in patent submission process, including creation of design descriptions and diagrams.
- Submit papers to conferences and publications and make presentations.
- Review product information including manuals and brochures for technical accuracy.
- Provide written reports and summaries of development projects and tasks.
- Perform other duties as necessary
Requirements: (Education, training, skills etc.)
- Solid knowledge of cryptographic functions including PKI; symmetric and asymmetric encryption/decryption, especially Diffie-Hellman methods; random number generators; hash functions; digital signatures, etc.
- At least 5 years experienced in security protocol design, especially public key infrastructure.
- Experience in implementing cryptographic security methods, toolkits or protocols is preferred.
- Participation in standards development process at organizations such as EPCglobal, DASH7, ANSI or IEEE.
- Experience with threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and ethical hacking is a plus.
- Experience with Common Criteria, FIPS and other standard certifications a plus.
- Software development or engineering for embedded systems is a plus.
- Bachelor of Science or above in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Math from a four-year college or university, or equivalent education/experience. A Masters or PhD preferred.
- Strong math skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Must work in a minimum supervision environment, alone or within a team.
- Must be self motivated.
- Travel to standards meetings and conferences is required.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible to obtain United States Secret Clearance.
Marketing Coordinator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop brochures. product spec sheets, white papers, proposals and grants, presentations and other marketing communication materials with assistance of executive and technical teams
- Update company website content and monitor website visitors
- Coordinate social media outreach via company blog, Twitter, YouTube and other services
- Write and distribute press releases
- Write and distribute company email newsletter
- Input leads and maintain CRM database
- Coordinate participation in trade shows and speaking events
- Conduct market and competitive research and monitor market trends
- Assist trade associations with their marketing activities
- Assist with travel arrangements, appointment setting or special projects
- Provide written reports and summaries of projects and tasks
- Perform other marketing and administrative duties as necessary
Requirements: (Education, training, skills etc.)
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Design or Business or equivalent education/experience
- A minimum of two years of marketing or design experience
Experience in Microsoft Office, plus design and web maintenance software such as Adobe Illustrator and Dreamweaver
- Experience with CRM software such as Salesforce preferred
- Experience distributing electronic newsletters preferred
- Experience using social media outlets, preferably for B2B
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must work in a minimum supervision environment, alone or within a team
- Must be self motivated

Software Developers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create product design requirements and test plan to support the development.
- Develop software in C, C++ , C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages for SecureRF products which will be implemented on a FPGA, RFIDÂ tags, embedded systems and other hardware platforms
- Test software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and/or logic analyzers
- Perform software releases and software quality assurance activities
- Review product information including manuals and brochures for technical accuracy
- Participate in product definition activities including feature analysis and system tradeoffs
- Provide written reports and summaries of development projects and tasks.
- Perform other duties as necessary
Requirements: (Education, training, skills etc.)
- Bachelors of Science or above in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Math from a four-year college or university, or equivalent education/experience
- Relevant experience and/or training in a high level language such as C, C++, C# or Java
- Strong background in implementing cryptographic security methods, toolkits or protocols is preferred (i.e. PKI, digital signatures, hash functions, encryption, etc.)
- Experience in software development for implementation in FPGA or other hardware platforms.
- Relevant education and/or experience in software design, development and maintenance, as required for the successful performance of the essential functions of the position
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must work in a minimum supervision environment, alone or within a team.
