SecureRF Corporation develops solutions that combine security and cryptography with low resource computing devices. As we bring our secure products to market and develop new security solutions, we are looking for talented people to join our experienced team.

New Contract Position as of June 2010.

Software Engineer with Embedded Experience –

This contract position to work on a strategic project will lead to a FT position for the right person. SecureRF’s development office is in New Haven, CT and the lead hardware engineer for this project is in the Boston area, so you could work in either location.  

Requirements: (Education, training, skills etc.)

  • Solid knowledge of C, Java and C++.  Visual Basic experience is a bonus.
  • Experience implementing real time communication protocols.
  • Experience implementing middleware, especially for RFID systems.
  • Experience with Texas Instrument’s MSP430 device is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Public Key cryptography and security techniques is a plus.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must work in a minimum supervision environment
  • Able to work alone or within a team.

Positions below updated March 2010. These positions will be in our New Haven, CT office.

SecureRF Corporation was recently awarded a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop a secure passive tag for the $231 Billion U.S. Pharmaceutical supply chain. The team will develop the prototype RFID tag for this project by combining EPCglobal Gen2 communication protocols with SecureRF’s security methods. Employees who are excited about combining their interests in engineering or software development with security are needed for this and other cutting edge projects.

Software Developers –

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create product design requirements and test plan to support the development.
  • Develop software in C, C++ , C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages for SecureRF products which will be implemented on a FPGA, RFID tags, embedded systems and other hardware platforms
  • Test software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and/or logic analyzers
  • Perform software releases and software quality assurance activities
  • Review product information including manuals and brochures for technical accuracy
  • Participate in product definition activities including feature analysis and system tradeoffs
  • Provide written reports and summaries of development projects and tasks.
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Requirements: (Education, training, skills etc.)

  • Bachelors of Science or above in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Math from a four-year college or university, or equivalent education/experience
  • Relevant experience and/or training in a high level language such as C, C++, C# or Java
  • Strong background in implementing cryptographic security methods, toolkits or protocols is preferred (i.e. PKI, digital signatures, hash functions, encryption, etc.)
  • Experience in software development for implementation in FPGA or other hardware platforms.
  • Relevant education and/or experience in software design, development and maintenance, as required for the successful performance of the essential functions of the position
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must work in a minimum supervision environment, alone or within a team.
  • Must be self motivated

RFID Systems Engineers –

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create product requirements and test plan to support their development.
  • Develop digital circuits design via RTL and then a Netlist
  • Develop an end-to-end system simulation and analysis to evaluate various technical issues such as modulation schemes.
  • Develop new methods / algorithms to improve system performance.
  • Design and deploy RF digital communication system and sub-system.
  • Provide written reports and summaries of development projects and tasks.

Requirements: (Education, training, skills etc.)

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 2 (junior position) to 5 (senior position) years experience in RF wireless communication system.
  • A solid understanding of wireless communications in theory and applications, plus RFID experience is required. Experience with EPCglobal Class 1, Generation 2 protocols preferred.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to create and navigate through detailed technical standards/specifications and other technical documents
  • Knowledge of cryptography and security methods is a plus.
  • Experience in digital wireless communication system analysis and design such as: Link budget; Channel planning, Multipath Fading analysis, Modulator/Demodulator schema design, Spectrum and bandwidth analysis and System Performance (BER, PER) analysis.
  • Knowledgeable in CAD/CAE tools.
  • Knowledgeable in Matlab, ADS or similar simulation tools.
  • Knowledgeable in Verilog or VHDL, test bench development, and code control.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must work in a minimum supervision environment and be self motivated
